A couple of days ago I posted on the idea of mobcasting. It’s gaining a lot of traction,(already a wikipedia entry to it) Andy Carvin(http://www.andycarvin.com) had blogged about it in his blog this month and also has carried out some experiments(http://mobcasting.blogspot.com ) as well. He calls mobcasting as mobiles + podcasting + Smart Mobs(Rheingold’s concept). That’s really kewl. He left a comment on my previous post saying that he was working on a mobcasting tool that could be placed on any server with a telephone modem bridge. Now that is ultra kewl. would’nt have to wait for audioblogger to start a service here in india.
I am wondering how Andy Carvin found my post on mobcasting. Looks like he is also been scouring the web like I did to find out who’s been thinking on the idea of mobcasting. But neither google nor technorati turns up my post on searching !!!!
Hi Rajan,
Actually, I found your blog because of technorati: I created RSS feeds for the words “mobcasting” and “Andy Carvin,” so every time someone posts those phrases on their blogs, Technorati notifies me via the RSS feed. It’s a great way to see who’s talking about your work or your writings, particularly if they don’t use trackback links to alert you.
thanks,
andy
ps- check out my new mobcast, The Gates @ Central Park. It’s set up for visitors to New York’s Central Park during next month’s art exhibit, The Gates, can post their comments and podcasts to a community blog.
